Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Mount Nittany Physician Group Orthopedics has teamed up with State College Area School District Athletics to add four athletic trainers to its sports medicine staff.
“This partnership demonstrates our continuing commitment to support the development of student athletes and promote the principles of teamwork and performance excellence,” says Kevin Wilson, MD, who heads sports medicine at Mount Nittany Physician Group Orthopedics.
Led by Dr. Wilson, athletic trainers, Alison Krajewski, MS, LAT, ATC; Brooke Maneval, LAT, ATC; Christie Sabol, LAT, ATC; and McKenzie Truitt, MS, LAT, ATC, work with State College Area School District student athletes to provide sports-related injury and conditioning, as well as equipment fitting, concussion testing, sports-related rehabilitation and pre-game injury assessments. They are certified through the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) as well as licensed through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine and Medicine.
Dr. Wilson and his team are proud to be the sports medicine providers for the school district’s athletic teams. In addition to providing comprehensive orthopedic care, the groups’ sports medicine services include the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of athletic injuries.
In addition to working with Mount Nittany Physician Group Orthopedics, the athletic trainers also work closely with Mount Nittany Health Fit for Play, which provides one-on-one physical therapy and fitness instruction at their State College on Sandy Drive.
Both Mount Nittany Physician Group Orthopedics – including sports medicine services – and Mount Nittany Health Fit for Play are open and available to athletes from all schools and all age groups.
