Mount Nittany Health is pleased to welcome Paul L. Klink, MD, to Mount Nittany Physician Group Weight Management.
The weight management specialty provides personal attention and individualized care in a relaxed, supportive environment. Each patient care plan is specifically tailored with each person’s needs in mind, as they journey toward a healthier life at their own pace.
The practice also includes Karen Cherinka, CRNP, who has been with the health system since 2016.
“When it comes to weight management, my philosophy of care involves encouraging grace and self-forgiveness and kindness toward oneself,” says Dr. Klink. “I like to partner with patients to set realistic and sustainable goals, with better health as our top priority. It’s important to recognize and celebrate all improvements and accomplishments. Small changes really can make a big difference.”
Dr. Klink earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana, and his medical degree from The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York. He completed his family medicine residency from St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse. Dr. Klink is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, American Board of Obesity Medicine and American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
“Building meaningful relationships with patients and helping them improve their overall health is the best part of my job,” Dr. Klink says. “To see the work we do together during visits translate into significant lifestyle changes is incredibly rewarding.”
Outside of the office, Dr. Klink enjoys bicycling and completed his first IRONMAN® Triathlon in 2018. He is married and has five grown children.
